Photosynthesis and respiration are connected because the reactants of one reaction are the products of the other. For example, the reactants of photosynthesis are water, carbon dioxide, and the light energy that is constantly coming in through the sun, and its products are oxygen and glucose. The reactants of respiration are oxygen and glucose, and its products are water and carbon dioxide. This shows that these reactants and products are continuously cycled through photosynthesis and respiration.

The products for photosynthesis (oxygen and glucose), are the same as the reactants for cellular respiration.
