He asked me  "Why?"

I answered Him with a question, “Aren’t roses the epitome of beauty and goodness?"

And God winks, raises His eyebrows and replies, “Yes, a rose, amongst my other creations, is a masterpiece of beauty and goodness. 
Roses need a lot of caring , nurturing and gardening. "

"Don't you have gardeners to take care of all of them?"  I asked Him. 

God said," Oh yes. Definitely, I have and still need capable gardeners. "

Immediately I recommended Tita Rose to God. “She is the perfect person for this role,” I said. “She has been a very good leader and manager. She has dedicated herself in serving others and her family. She has had great exposure in managing the SSAFI affairs amongst other things. She did a great job doing it.”

Then God smiles at me and tells me, “ Carlo,  your Tita Rose has already been appointed a gardener. She has been a very good gardener  of her family down there. It is time for her to be up here. It is time for her to reap what she has sowed."
 
"Oh,” I replied with a smile. I didn't know what to say... silence... 

God continues "What you have to realize is that your mom and Cheng has been your gardener for quite some time. I appointed them early on since I needed them up here, guiding you from up here."

"They needed to prune, dig, water you, and work harder and longer for you. They had to put you in the right spot and give you the right amount of sun. It wasn't your thorns that they needed to watch out for.  They had to deal with your  "black spots" , that deadly disease. This way, your bushes wont totally defoliate."

I gasped and responded "No wonder we are now here, dear Lord.  We totally made it." 
I continued "They have done a wonderful job. Im on to the next phase of my life."

God again spoke.. but this time more forceful.."But remember, they couldn't do their jobs perfectly on their own. They needed your Tita Rose and  you to help them create that brilliantly torch-lit rose garden down there. You become responsible forever for what you’ve tamed." 

God further explained, "We want you to grow and re grow,  blossom to the fullest. Because one day, I would need you. I would need you up here. too.... to be a gardener for your rose garden.... to be of help to others."

pause... silence.. prayer.. 

I thanked God. "Thank you for your grace and for knowing all, God.”

I looked up "I love you Tita Rose. Your life and death has opened my eyes and heart."

"Please send my hugs and kisses to my mommy, Peton, Rico, Titos, Little Inesita, Cheng and Kristiano. I love all of you" 

"I will see all of you in the future. Huwag na muna near future ha. I have a mission pa kasi.  Im eagerly excited of helping out from down here. If it is the last thing I will do, I will make you proud."
