We have had a great week settling back in.

We have enjoyed learning about different transport and making hot air balloons as part of our short story “Up, Up, Up”.

We also enjoyed taking a bus trip, buying tickets and going on a bus spot around the town.

and then another trip to the supermarket to buy all of our breakfast and snack resources for the term, the children helped make the shopping list.

It’s been a great start back and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the term brings.

This week, we met the main character as he travelled to Spain. We enjoyed tasting Spanish food, painting Spanish flags and learning some Spanish songs.

We also enjoyed Forest School this week, making bug hotels and going on a bug hunt.

This week, we also enjoyed our trip to Blackpool Zoo! We had the most fabulous day. We watched the sealion show, saw the giraffes, elephants, lions and tigers, birds....and lots of seagulls!

The children had an incredible time and we were so so proud of how they managed the day.

We followed up the trip with lots of lovely zoo and animal themed activities for the rest of the week.

So we have made the most of the opportunity by

- enjoying the shade and tranquillity of Forest school (and making dens, inspired by the 3 Little Pigs story)

- by having lots of water play and (a water fight) in the playground

- enjoying calm and quiet in the classroom

- and enjoying a McFlurry! YUM

We have enjoyed breakfast in The Hub cafe, learning about the job of a waiter, and then making our our cafe role play in class.

We have also been for a walk to Aldi to buy snacks, to learn about jobs in shops. We enjoyed practising scanning food and buying tasty treats for class.

Next week we are going to explore more jobs that people do, we are very excited.

We stated a new story “The Magic Train Ride”

We went to the diner for breakfast, we had lots of water play to cool down, we learnt about trains and Frank Hornby and lots of lovely play.

It’s been lovely. We can’t believe the year is never over.
