I have three boys. They're 13, 11, and 7. I'm a single mom, and we live in a beautiful city on a private lake, and we enjoy wakeboarding, outdoor activities. My oldest is very much into e-bikes and tricks. My middle one is a competition soccer player, and my little one also loves to play soccer.

I have worked at two small hospitals in my area for the last 23 years. I started on a telemetry floor and then moved myself up to charge, and then I went through an ICU training program, and I was in the intensive care unit for about 10 years. And then I went to interventional radiology, and I do radiology procedures, vascular procedures, and cardiac procedures. I sometimes still float to ICU, and I always pick up shifts on the floor. I started in aesthetic nursing back in 2019, going into 2020. I've been doing aesthetic nursing since then as a part-time job. I love it. I do everything from peptides to neurotoxins all the way to assisting with liposuction and fat transfers. It's definitely a different kind of nursing.

I have lived in Canyon Lake, California since I was about two years old. I bought a house here back in 2009 with my ex-husband, and me and my children actually live in that same exact house. My dad still lives around the corner in the house that I grew up in, and it's a very small community on a private lake. It's pretty amazing.

Why do I want to be a NP

I want to advance my career. I want to have more autonomy. And I want to grow from where I am into an environment that I think is amazing. I did some research on nurse practitioner programs at Hawaii Pacific University. It was one of the programs that came up to be amazing. I'm very excited about this journey. I'm very proud of myself. And I'm also very nervous.
