         <description><![CDATA[<div>- We have a democratic republic<br>- Rome also was a pure democracy<br>- The people that run in Rome are called Consuls (only serves for one year)&nbsp;<br>- The president in the U.S. serves for 1 or 2 4-year terms.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;- Rome did not accept the lower class for a long time.&nbsp;<br>- Rome also had a solid class system that did not change very often<br>- Has a backup in case something happenes to the Consul (a dictor serves for 6 months) wheras the US government has a vice president in case that happens</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>we think the Athenian republic was better because it was a pure democracy. It also was safer because no dictator would come incase something happened to the original leader. Also, the people governed, so that it was more fair than other ways. We also think the republic model does work for us because our country is pretty much still in order. For example, we still have our checks and balances to keep us in a good system. However, We don't think that the Athenian model would work for the U.S. because there are a lot of people in this country, so they would probably fight over simple things and get angry. Also, there would probably be an outrage or a riot because not a lot of people agree with each other. In the U.S., because of the large population, it would take an immense amount of time to make decisions. They would also have "not very wise" people make decisons for their own good.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
