         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Medium term goals</strong><br>Try and create a medium goal that they will work towards and can achieve by the end of treatment, for example - in 6 weeks I want to go to Granny's for a sleepover. <br><strong>Short term goals</strong><br>Avoid really short term goals like I will ask my teaching assistant for help next Wednesday, as you will have to keep changing goals that can be achieved in a week. Instead make them a part of a slightly bigger goal, for example - this could be turned into: by the end of working together I will be confident to ask for help from those around me.<br><strong>Long term goals</strong><br>Avoid really long term goals such as I want to be a nurse, which is years ahead and may possibly change.<br>You could set a longer term goal such as next year I want to&nbsp;go on the school trip if there are small achievable steps they can achieve whilst you are working together, and they are clear they'd need to keep working on the goal after your work together has finished.</div>]]></description>

Ask the CYP/parent how will they achieve this goal?<br>For example to sleep at granny's in 6 weeks - (start at 0 score)they may want to visit granny after school (progress to a 4), then for longer on a weekend (maybe a 6 this week), then stay with a sibling at granny's (maybe an 8), then finally stay on their own at granny's for a sleepover (achieved goal now a 10)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Ask</strong><br>Ask is there anything they'd like to try e.g. a club/activity OR is there something they enjoy doing they'd like to make time for e.g. drawing, reading etc<br><br><strong>Refer back</strong><br>Alternatively, you can refer back to something they have previously told you, e.g. earlier you said you struggle to sleep because you worry so much - could we make a goal around this? <br><br><strong>Examples</strong><br>You could also give examples of goals other children/parents have come up with<br><br><strong>Magic wand</strong><br>You could also use the magic wand question - what would you like to change or what would you like to happen?<br>Could this realistically be a goal?<br><br><strong>Home practice<br></strong>You could set home practice for the child/parent to go away and think of another goal they might want to add.</div>]]></description>
