- Groom's parents will visit bride's family or also known as asberbunga-bunga to ask any questions about the bride and to discuss about the condition  of marriage.

Propose and Engaged

-A group of people usually older people from the groom's family visited the bride's family again and had agreed about the condition  which includes dowry and the gift.

-The groom's father will remove the  "lapit"(silver sword) as a sign of engagement and both parties also discuss about the date of the marriage.

Wedding Ceremony

-The groom usually marched to the bride house by walking or riding a decorated boat through the river.   Cannon fire will be released after they had arrived at the bride's house. The couple must taking a bath together in the river and after that they have to wear the traditional wedding cloth.

- Guests will be treated a glass of wine to celebrate the wedding.  

-A ritual called 'pinang" will be carried out because it will determine how long the bride must stay with the groom's family.

-At the end of the ceremony which usually at night, the bridal couple will sit together to eat the slaughtered chicken and they are serve with variety of foods and drinks.

- After that, the ceremony of shooting wooden birds down with guns will be held because this is one of the tradition of Lun Bawang community. This tradition represent fortune for the couple and then the wedding begin.

- The couple will sit down so that people will bless them with well wishes as well as getting "angpaos".The couple will then hand out gifts to the guests. 

-At the end of the ceremony, the guests will sing and dance for fun.

-Bride and groom move to the stage and meet the priest. Then the couple need to step on a stone which symbolize the strength of a stone.Next, the priest put the traditional Kadazan hat to the couple from heads to their legs while praying for them.

-The couple drink a bottle of rice wine  and eat chicken soup with a rice on a coconut bowl.  the couple feet each other with lumps of rice.

-At the end of the ceremony the couple performed the Sumazau dance.
