         <description><![CDATA[<div>Desert Ecosystem&nbsp;<br><br>1. Biotic and Abiotic factors&nbsp;<br>Abiotic Factors<br>*Climate - Hot sunny and dry year round. Temperatures of 104 to 113 degrees Fahrenheit.<br>*Geographic features - Lots of sand and small amounts of water.<br>Biotic Factors&nbsp;<br>Plant Life - Mostly cacti and cousins of it.<br>Animal Life - Scorpions, and spiders, cicada, and beetles are the only bugs in the desert. Coyote, snakes, lizards, and camels are the remaining animals.<br>2. Limiting Factors<br>*Water - Water is a huge limiting factor because there is not much of it in the desert and it is needed to support life.&nbsp;<br>*Soil - Soil is needed to grow plants such as cacti. Just like water there is not much soil.<br>*Temperature - The hot climate in the desert makes it hard for things to survive in such crude weather. This causes many of the animals in the desert to come out at night.<br>3. Adaptations&nbsp;<br>*Cacti - Cacti have adapted to use less water because it's so scarce in desert ecosystems.&nbsp;<br>*Camels - Camels have humps on their backs that store fat so that they can survive longer.<br>*Thorny Devils - Thorny devils drink water with their skin using an adaptation called capillary action.&nbsp;<br>4. Symbiotic Relationships&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;*Parasitism - A wasp will lay its eggs inside of a praying mantis so it will feed on its larvae&nbsp;<br>*Mutualism - Desert bees pollinate cacti allowing both of them to thrive.<br>*ommensalism - Cactus wren will make their nest in tall cholla cactus to protect its young offspring from predators (the cactus cholla isn’t harmed).</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Climate- Reefs are generally are confined to tropical and semi-tropical waters. Reef-building corals cannot tolerate water temperatures below 64 degrees.<br>Plants- Algae and sea-grasses are the main types of plants in the coral reef ecosystem, zooxanthellae can also be found in coral reefs.<br>Animals- The coral provides shelter for many animals in this habitat, including sponges, nudibranch, fish (blacktip reef sharks, groupers, clown fish, eels, parrotfish, snapper, and scorpion fish) jellyfish, sea stars, crustaceans, turtles, sea snakes, snails, and mullusks.<br>Adaptations- fish in coral reefs have adapted bodies to make them swim faster through coral reefs, their pelvic and pectorial fins have switched places. Plants need to collect sunlight.<br>Symbiotiic relationships- Zebra crabs cling to their host, a colorful fire urchin, the urchins venomous spikes protect the crab.<br>The small fish attaches to the shark and eats scraps of what the shark eats.<br>Small fish hang around the tentacles of jellyfish, it doesn't harm them, but protects them.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Rising sea levels cause habitat to change. Coral reefs need to be at a sable 73 and 84 temperature to assure growth.Overfishing- Catching too many fish can be very bad for the ecosystem. It is difficult for species to stay alive when too many fish are taken from one area. Taking herbivore fish can cause the algae on the reef to grow rapidly. Pollution- boating can cause damage to the reef ecosystems. Throwing things in the ocean that should not be there can cause a huge impact on the animals on the ecosystems.  Variation, tolerance and adaptations of at least three organisms in the coral reef that allow them to survive in the ecosystem: Fish found in the coral reef have have bright colours to help blend in and camouflage. Plants in the coral reef have larger cells in order to get the sunlight they need for photosynthesis. Limiting factors include water [one of the majors], disease, environment, climate, the heat of day and the cold of night.                       Carrying capacity The main limiting factor is water. There is enough water for ten coyotes, so it ten coyotes. Its low.                                           Variations-in a desert there are usually two or three climates. A hot desert, a cold desert, and sometimes a mild desert.                             Tolerances animal that live in the desert were made to live there. Most are small and they hunt at night and sleep during the day. They need very little water.                         Adaptations most desert so they can servie in the desert. They stay in the ground at day and hunt at night when it,s cool.                                Parasitism a flea living on a coyote. The flea benafited but the coyote is not.                                                               Mutualism a Phainopepla eats the seeds of Misletoe berries. The bird passes the seeds and ensure  tne survival of both.                                           Commensalism a Cactus Wren Will make it,s nest in a tall Cholla Cactus to protect it,s young. The cactus is not efective but is not benefited </div>]]></description>
