late night texts disturb sleep
reacting angrily to someone using wrong acronyms because you are not talking just reading - clarify, did they know the meaning of LOL
not knowing acronyms
emotiocons  not matching
knowing if people read your message or not
not having someone overhear your conversation (vs. the phone) 
having two people take over a group chat
Message gets saved; conversations do not
People using their phones when visiting with friends and talking and texting to others when they should be talking to you
People who text instead of talking when in same room
no phones at the table
texting can keep record of conversations - this is good and bad
but can be used to store directions or 
send photos which you can't do on a phone
