Ana Lucía: For my mom it is very important to have her job and be independent, for example she makes breakfast in the morning and then go to work because she enters earlier than my dad, and he washes the dishes after eating the breakfast, my dad also works and helps my mom with some things around the house like watering the plants and in the kitchen, both support each other and there is no overload on either of them. They both have very equal ideologies and it has always been that way and those are the values that I have learned throughout my life.

My mother believes that it is good to divide household chores, although in her case she is the one in charge of everything since my father works all day. But in a couple where both work it is good to divide the work. When she had us she decided to stop working and be with us all the time so she is the one who does most of the house cleaning.

In another opinion, my dad thinks the same thing, both men and women should be equitable with the house cleaning, he says that since he works he doesn't have time to be at home all day and since they had children, my mother decided to give us all her time to us. My mother grew up in an environment where only women were responsible for household chores and in addition mens. My mother understood that she did not want that lifestyle, so she insisted my grandfather study and he currently has his career and practices it in his own office.
