The colonists wanted not to pay taxes. They hated the rule of paying taxes to get some tea (which was very popular back then). They wanted to get tea for something to drink. It was not fair that the British got tea for free. They were so mad that they went on British boats in disguise as Indians. They threw tea off the boats. This is now known as the British Tea Party. The colonists hated the Stamp Act. They were furious. They protested until the Stamp Act was repealed

The British thought it was a good idea because the government did not have enough money. This caused arguments and even war, The revaloutinaty war. The British thought that there plan was going well, and it was. For the long 2 mouths British and colonists fought but nothing came of it.

The first Continental Congress was where 56 colonists came from 12 colonies.Although Georgia was not part of it because they needed help with Native Americans from the British. They met to discus how they were mad at the British. They met in secret so that the British would not find them and would not find out that they had united. They had talked about how the British was unfair to them with all the taxes. They made a declaration of rights. After a few Continental Congresses, things started to change. Patrick Henry, George Washington, John Adams, and John Jay were part of the group of people from the colonies
