Ancient Romans built aqueducts that could reach from 400 to 500 miles from mountains to Rome to bring water for fountains, public baths, and gave the wealthy their own personal faucets in their home. Arches (as said in the first example) were used in aqueducts because were strong and sturdy enough to bring water from one place to another. Today, the aqueducts still bring water to the fountains and people can get water from there.

Aqueducts are also still used today. The aqueducts are more modern than the Ancient Roman ones because back then, there wasn´t any advanced technology like there is now in the modern days. Without these Roman aqueducts, we wouldn´t have understood how they got water back then so we could figure out how to get water easier!
