         <description><![CDATA[<div>It was most active during the late 1960s to the early 1970s.<br>The movement started as a social movement for racial justice. Mainly as a response to low wages, harsh working conditions, and constant discrimination that has been present since the beginning of this country. Rather than focusing on ideologies of the Free Speech Movement and anti-Vietnam War Movement, the Asian American Movement emphasized Asian collectivity. This means all Asian ethnicities in America shared a common feeling of prejudice. </div>]]></description>
