Should kids that become internet sensations be considered as child workers? Kid influencers are making millions online, Youtube, Instagram etc. This has raised fears that parents are encouraging kids to work and spend more time posting. According to Bruno Studer, most countries have not regulated this issue. “Child labour is forbidden in France unless there are special dispensations, including on the internet” New legislation is being passed through parliament to prevent child exploitation, with income for under 16s being put in a special bank account while also giving them right to remove content from their internet platforms when asked to do so. The new rules only apply to children posting commercial work online for large amounts of time while receiving an income in return.
