The design principles are Thermal & Solar Heating and Cooling, Solar & Wind Electricity, Contained Sewage Treatment, Building with Natural & Recycled Materials, Water Harvesting and Food Production. These designs aren't expensive because they have upcycled materials.

Possible solutions to the extinction of species
1. To avoid extinction of the species you need to know your environment and learn to live with it without modifying it, which would avoid sudden changes in the environment and thus prevent the disappearance of any species, living beings need to adapt to changes in its medium for long periods of time, if the changes are abrupt they can not adapt and perish as a species.

2.- Birth control, to avoid the need to extend the cities.

3.- Decrease in pollutants discharged in air, land and water.

4.- Decrease in forest clearance.

5.- Greater penalties for animal trafficking crimes.

6 .- Invest more funds for breeding of animals in danger of extinction.

Desertificacion

Preventive measures may consist of:
Coordinate the management of land and water resources to protect the soil from erosion, salinization and other forms of degradation.
Protect the vegetation cover, which can have a role of first order in the protection of the soil against the erosion of wind and water.
Promote the coexistence of grazing and crops in the lands that meet the favorable conditions, which allows a more efficient nutrient cycle in agricultural systems
Combine traditional methods of land exploitation with locally accepted and adapted technologies.
Provide local communities with the necessary means to prevent desertification and effectively manage the resources of drylands.
Opting for alternative livelihoods that do not depend on traditional land use, for example, aquaculture in dry areas, greenhouse agriculture and tourism-related activities, which require less use of local lands and natural resources and they are still a sustainable source of income.
Promote economic opportunities in the urban centers of the drylands and in other areas outside the drylands
