         <description><![CDATA[<div>The brighter the stars indicated the warmer the season would be and thus a more productive crop. It was also seen as and important time for family to gather and reflect on the past and the future. My understanding of why is matariki important is it start off the Maori new year and it also is a time when all your family and friends  come together and hug out together.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today Matariki is celebrated in many different ways wither it be through Food, Party's, Education and the planting of a new tree to signal a new beginning.(NOTE i said today).<br><br>The main food source when celebrating Matariki is Hangi, hangi is cooked either in steamers or  beneath the earth.</div>]]></description>
