They are going to be running down the Okeechobe river in which they can trade and buy stuff. The boat they were  going to buy and trade the stuff was called the Mary Belle boat , which was a stern-wheeler, forty feet long, with black smoke boiling from its one stack. Once the boat slowly stopped, Tobias offered the man that got out of the boat a trade with cow beef, but the man really wanted something else. The captain was willing to pay three cents a pound for the dressed dear, two bucks  each for the gator hides, and and twenty five cents a hide for the coins. In order to get what the captain wanted, Tobias told Skillit to go and hit a gator with a pole and it didn’t work. There were 6 gators in the water, 3 of them pushed off into the water and swam away. Two became silent again. One gator tried to kill Skillit but he ran towards Zech and Tobias.
