I use TELEGRAM for both online and in-person trainings, and for both synchronous and asynchronous discussions. There are 2 options; Telegram Channel or Telegram Group Chat. I create a Telegram Group Chat for all the trainings I do. They can be used for general communication but I like to use it for class discussions. I can create topics in the group chat and post discussion questions. Students then send their discussion points, ideas and opinions, spoken or written. User-friendly and free.

Collecting students' work and assessing students' knowledge about the lesson content, I normally use google form. I create short answer, MCQs and True and False questions types in the form and then the students can answer using the form.

The children use their ipads to research inquiry questions they have formulated. We limit the search engines to things like Nat Geo for kids, Duck Duck Go and Google for kids. There are heavy filters on the internet but it is still important to use child orientated search engines so the material is accessible for children.

BBc Bitesize is also a very good resource but we need a VPN for our region.

We use Kahoot quizzes a lot to check understanding. Sometimes children make their own quizzes for their peers to play.

We always have a recap or plenary slide on our lesson presentations.

We use Seesaw or Google Classroom to post activities to help embed the learning concept.

I have seen many kinds of digital platforms in teaching that my teachers used. Mostly they used Canva, Google slides and also they used Kahoot to improve our knowledge. I really like the method that they use . When they give group projects, they let us use Canva or Google Slides. It also improves our digital skills as well.

The teacher can use this online website in their teaching. The teacher can provide the assignment to the students more effectively at the same time, the students can watch the video inside the assignment to better understand again and again.

Again, I have not yet used this in my own teaching and training, yet I'm taking a course in AI with ChatGPT and there are creative activities presented along with their prompts on how to use this tool in an inquiry-based way. For example, you can have the bot act as a famous writer or inventor and interview him or her according to our learners' own questions.

They are great for autonomous learners in that you can quiz yourself on the flashcards while you're waiting for anything--wherever you have a few minutes to spare. Put it on the timed mode and it's a game!

Online Conference on Zoom

In March, I mentored teachers to present and facilitated an online teachers conference in Senegal. Although the conference was on Zoom for greater reach on a limited budget, we also recorded videos of some of the presentations due to the low bandwidth in some areas. Then the teachers were live for the Q&A. It worked out perfectly. Of course, they used Google Slides as well and much of our pre-conference communication was through Whatsapp.
