Ridley's family have moved from Auckland and Ridley will be starting at a local intermediate school whilst their sister starts at a new High School.   

 

Ridley's parents have been supportive of their gender since an early age and their previous school had a number of gender diverse students attending.

 

The staff in the new school are generally supportive, but there is one teacher who has talked openly in the staff room about not agreeing with gender diversity due to their religious beliefs.

 

Despite seeming excited about a fresh start, Ridley is also nervous about the potential challenges of starting a new school and has started to say to their parents that they want to be home schooled.

 

The Principal has contacted MOE for some advice and the case has been allocated to you.
