         <description><![CDATA[<div>The  definition of elastic energy is "the mechanical potential energy stored in the configuration of a material or physical system as it is subjected to elastic deformation by work performed upon it." Basically just if you pull back on a rubber band or a slingshot, the mechanical potential energy that was stored from pulling the band back will make it go flying upon release.<br><br>Examples:<br><br>1.A bow and arrow being drawn back<br><br>2.A twisted rubber band (the ones that power the little toy airplanes)</div>]]></description>
