You probably know talk shows from TV, in which one or more people discuss a topic or question led by a moderator. In class, students take on roles and discuss a fictional topic by explaining different opinions and positions. 

What does every talk show need?

  • … a moderator, who introduces the topic and discussion question, leads the discussion, asks questions and summarizes arguments. 
  • ... guests, who are experts stating and explaining their position, listen and react to other guests.
