After landing, these theories were debunked, as the Moon had a similar surface to the Earth and was found to have water on the surface, giving it the potential to host human life.

Rabie, Passant. “Here’s What We Thought We Knew about the Moon before Apollo 11.” Space.Com, Space, 17 July 2019, www.space.com/before-apollo-what-we-didnt-know-about-moon.html.

After the moon landing, many across the scientific community, and the world viewed it as a cosmic event. Not only evening the global power scale, but also impact the lives everyone. After the landing, many viewed space as something which humans can achieve travel with easily, and also showing the importance of the Moon and Earths relationship. It shows the people how it works as a partnership, rather than a dominating force, being the Earth. As said by Sean Solomon, the Moon landing helped us gain a perspective, which we would not have gained without leaving Earth.

Crockett, Christopher. “How the Moon Landings Changed Our View of the Solar System.” Knowable Magazine | Annual Reviews, Knowable Magazine, 16 July 2019, knowablemagazine.org/content/article/physical-world/2019/how-moon-landings-changed-our-view-solar-system.

This drawing shows the Earth from a view that many humans will not see. It shows the Earth as a living being, a host planet for billions of people. Without space travel, something like this would not be possible for all of us to see. Seeing the Earth from view shows the scale of the galaxy and our role in this Milky Way. All of this is only possible through space travel, and this is just a minuscule impact on our perception of space.

One significant relation between this class and the project is orbit. Space and its relation to the Moon make the Moon a vast regulator of the Earth's orbit and axis. Without the Moon, we would not be able to experience seasons, and the tilt of the Earth would be impacted. The tilt will be on either pole, facing extreme cold or heat. Additionally, days would only last around 6 to 12 hours, and our year consists of over 100 days. Orbits were covered throughout the quarter but had a slight focus in module two. As for seasons and orbits, it was the primary focus of module three

Going through research on the Moon, the landing, and the impact on Earth, it has shown me the sheer importance of the Moon on our Earth. Although this could be said a million times over, but the amount the Moon does for the Earth, and the impact it has on human life is often understated. Without the Moon, there is a good chance human life does not exist. The Moon itself has allowed us to learn more about the planet due to carbon dating moon samples, and shown us perspectives which would go unseen by many of us. Beyond this class, the Moon is the catalyst of finding new methods of scientific research, and pushed the needle forward when testing new methods, often times being used for good alongside humanity.

Although the Moon landing was a significant breakthrough for the space and science community, it has impacted our lives, as it has helped create everyday objects we all use and love. Technology such as camera phones, CAT scans, and wireless headphones would not exist without the moon landing. Although the Moon landing might have needed big and brave ideas and technology, the simple stuff they found allowed missions to be completed and allowed us to live a healthier and easier lifestyle.

Pidgeon, Emily. “Apollo 11 Moon Landing: 12 Everyday Items from NASA Space Travel.” The CEO Magazine, The CEO Magazine Originally from a small country town in Victoria, Emily moved to Sydney to pursue a media career.
