1. This first week has gone very well for me, and I found that I actually enjoyed learning about how to take better videos, edit videos, and just make better quality videos overall. I think that the online platform made the week easier due to the flexibility to do the work when I felt like it was a good time, or if I had a particularly good idea, I could sit down and work it out right then and there. I can not think of anything that Mr. Burr could have done better, because I feel that the class has been very organized, helpful, and informative on the various topics. It is also very clear what is expected of us.
2. I feel that the most valuable thing that I learned this week was how to edit and make videos effectively on IMovie because I have been trying to make things on IMovie for years, and had various degrees of success, but now that I had a clear tutorial, I have found it much easier. I also think that this can help me on projects for other classes where we might have to make a video of sorts and I will be able to edit effectively and make a good video.
3. I liked the Skillshare videos and I have been trying to learn Imovie for a very long time, and I have found that other tutorials do not help me like the Skillshare videos did. The Skillshare videos went through the material clearly and at the right pace, with a very knowledgeable creator, and I found that it helped me greatly.
4. I had a bit of difficulty on the project trying to think of something to represent in my video because I have not really been able to keep up with my hobbies and sports while at home on quarantine, so I had to settle with a more symbolic way of showing what I liked. I did this by using the small Statue of Liberty model that I bought in New York and placing it around my house and backyard to show my love of traveling. I think it would have gone better if I could get out of the house and show things that I like to do, but this was not possible in this environment. I think that some of the shots went together well and I am satisfied with my editing on IMovie, which I feel has improved greatly since the Skillshare videos.
5. I do feel that I have a good understanding of shooting video on my Iphone, and I look forward to getting even better and more practiced. I also think that I am getting better at IMovie but I am not quite there yet because I see people using it very quick and effectively, and I can barely use it slowly, let alone fast and effectively. I think that once I make more videos, and figure out the fast commands for things, it will be much more effective and I will have a better understanding of IMovie.
