She was quite hesistant about moving to the countryside at the start and ignored her father and grandparents. She does not like the way the people act at the school and thought that they were annoying, she likes to be alone and she experiences culture shock as the countryside residents were very friendly. The background of the people at the countryside were of different background from her. She was not comfortable as she was being pushed out of her comfort zone and she felt as if she was being abandoned by her parents. This can be seen through how Miyori was extremely cold towards the people there. 

She was very reluctant to interact with them, finding their attention on her very annoying. This was especially so since she was not used to postive attention on her as when she was in Tokyo, she was ostracized and bullied. Thus she found all their questions on her rather strange which led to her feeling out of her comfort zone and unable to cope.

In addition, she felt abandoned by her parents, feeling a bit that it was her fault that she was being sent to the countryside (in exile) as she was unable to keep her family together.

In later parts tho, she began to feel much better about the countryside, seeing the various creatures of the countryside which made her remember the fond memories of her childhood when she was chosen as the guardian of the forests.

Being caught in the middle of her parents' conflict, she resents them for dragging her into it and not giving her the proper care and attention she wants. As a result of her upbringing, she can't fit in at school. To make matters worse, she is now being thrown into a new environment as a result of her parents' dispute, which accentuates her alienation. She feels lonely and dejected. One specific instance is when she disposes her phone into the river as a means of cutting ties with her previous life. Her feelings are manifested in the form of her abrasive attitude toward the rest of the village. She eventually comes to terms with her new life near tbe midpoint of the film when she confronts the spirit at the spring.
