Explanation: The quote shows that she's devoted because in the whole story she has been talking being a doctor. She told that to Walter and everyone else. Her mother was going to put some money away for her to go to college to become a doctor but Walter takes the money and puts it in to a liquor store. The quote states that being a doctor comes first over anything. She wants to make a living doing want she wants but she can't afford to do it and i do sympathize for her. I feel like people underestimate her abilities. She just needs to stop trying to be something she is not like her cutting her hair off and changing because of a guy.
