         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1729, the first government prohibition was placed on the distribution of Opium in China. This started off as a small change, but eventually would be a leading factor in the Qing Government, and the reason during the Opium War, they found out how weak they actually are. The Opium war started between 1839 to 1842. The Qing Empire Vs Britain and its allies in France, United States, and Russia fought in this war.</div>]]></description>

They wanted to spread this idea to foreign lands to use their race for improving others. The Chinese also needed modernization at the time, because China had bad relationships with neighboring countries, such as Japan and Britain.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chinese modernization eventually happened after the Opium wars, which they lost to the British. They noticed that they needed it after they saw the advanced, modern military of the British. After the Opium wars, the Chinese were humiliated from the loss. The Chinese did not like how the British defeated them so easily, and they did not respect the British for taking over their country.</div>]]></description>

One treaty was the Treaty of Nanking, this would end up being a peace treaty which would be the end of the Opium War. This was a huge sign for a new start in a good direction, but this did not end up as a good direction, due to all of the slave like cultures going on after this war had ended.</div>]]></description>
