The learning activity focuses on the use of verbs in the past, allowing students to practice how to express actions that have already occurred. We begin with a brief explanation about the formation of the past, both regular and irregular verbs. Then, students will turn a list of verbs from the present to the past and write sentences using these forms. In addition, they will work in pairs to create an interactive dialogue about their weekend activities, making sure to use verbs in the past. The activity includes automatic feedback and peer review, promoting a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. At the end, students will have improved their ability to use last time in English effectively and fun.

Activity structure

Introduction:

Today we are going to learn how to use verbs in the past. The verbs in the past help us talk about actions that have already occurred. For example, instead of saying "I play," we will say "I played." Let's practice this together!

Instructions:

1. Explanation of the past time: begins by reading the brief explanation on how to form the regular and irregular past. Regular verbs end in "-ED" (as "play" a "Played"), while irregular ones have unique forms (such as "Go" a "went").

2. Identification exercise: Use the ai tool to generate a list of 10 verbs in the present. Then, ask students to turn those verbs from the past. Example: "EAT" → "ATE".

3. Writing of sentences: Students must write 5 sentences using the past verbs they have practiced. You can use the phrase suggestions tool if you consider it necessary.

4. Interactive dialogue: In pairs, students will use the AI tool to generate a short dialogue in which both talk about what they did on the weekend, using verbs in the past. For example: "On Saturday, I went to the park" and "I played football."

Practice:

- Exercise 1: Convert verbs to the past.

- Exercise 2: Write sentences.

- Exercise 3: Create an interactive dialogue.

Comments:

- Students will receive AI tool automatic comments on the prayers they write. The tool may highlight grammatical errors and offer corrections.

- The pairs review will be encouraged, where students will share their prayers and dialogues with another partner to receive feedback.

Content needed for activity

Instructions for identification exercise:

- "Use the tool to convert the following verbs to the past: RUN, EAT, GO, PLAY, SEE, HAVE, MAKE, WRITE, READ, AND SWIM."

Example of sentences:

- "Yesterday, I went to the store."

- "Last summer, I swam in the pool."

Example of dialogue:

- Student A: "What did you do on Saturday?"

- Student B: "I went to the cinema and I saw a movie."

Conclusion

This activity will not only help students dominate the use of verbs in the past, but will also encourage active interaction and learning. When integrating the AI tool, you will provide a more dynamic learning environment and adapted to the needs of each student, making the English learning process more attractive and effective
