I’ll take care of your baby for you . . . ’cause . . . like you
say . . . she’s innocent . . . and you can’t visit the sins of the father upon the child. A motherless child has got a hard time.

Explanation: This quote shows that rose is a nurturing person. She takes in Troys daughter and raises her as her own.

Yes, I sympathize for Rose, she was a loving wife and mother. She gave her all into her family working hard to take care of and love them, but what she got back was betrayal. After all she had given, Troy still went out and had an affair with a younger woman. During this time period, women couldn't support themselves due to the lack of jobs available for them, meaning that she couldn't leave Troy. Even after all that, she still took in Troys daughter as her belief was that every child was Innocent and needed a family.
Strengths and weaknesses: Rose has many strengths, she is a nurturing, loving mother. Her biggest weakness is her situation. In her situation as a black woman, she is stuck in her situation with troy. With the lack of jobs available for her, she wouldn't be able to support her self.

This art piece made by Charles Alston, a well know black Painter in the 50's, relates to Rose Maxson from fences. This is because to me the portrait represents her family. In the play, family plays a big roll with the story. Rose holds close to her family, and her family is her life.

" (Hansburry)
Hope is a common theme throughout A Raisin in the Sun. For each character this hope is different, With Benetha and her hopes of becoming a doctor, Mama's hopes of buying the house and bettering the lives of her family, and of course Walters hope is opening up a liquor shop and getting money. This quote specifically focuses on Walter's hopes. This quote show that Walter hopes of opening up this shop will better his life. This is explored

One Theme in the play, Fences is family.
Situation: When Rose takes in Troys daughter.
Explanation: Through out the Fences play, family is a big theme. In this situation, it shows how important family is to the story. Rose, even after being cheated on and betrayed by Troy, still takes in his daughter. This shows that family is important to rose and she believes that everyone deserves a family.

Both Fences and A Raisin in The Sun have strong themes of family and money. In both of the plays, each family is struggling for money. While this is more see in Raisin in the sun, it is also seen within Fences. Family is also a big part within each play, both plays are about the struggles between the each family, whether it is financial or perhaps personal, like relationships and emotions.
In both plays, the fathers of the family, Troy and Walter have very similar qualities, while the rest of the family members vary. Another similar issue between both plays is the situations for black families. The fact that not many black people during this time had the job opportunities that many white people did. The best example of this is, is the types of jobs Troy and Walter have. Troy works for a garbage company hauling the garbing, and Walter works as a chauffeur.

Have u ever thought actually
What it would be like, without a family.

Family is the only one,
Where one experiences best of fun.
Family is an elegant necklace,
Whose bond may appear broken
But deep inside, their hearts are still one.

When the unwanted sorrows seem longer than a mile,
Your dear old family makes you smile.

When because of a mistake no event
Works out for your sake.
When life refuses to mend
There comes a sharp bend,
Family gives necessary amends,
To the family all worries can be sent.

In a fraction of time,
Your sorrows will leave
It may sound absurd
But you’ve got to believe.

Wherever you may be,
You belong to the pack.
And to them you can always go back

This poem relates to rose because it is about family. In the play, family plays a big part into roses beliefs and actions. This poem talks about how life would be different without a family, and how having this family is necessary. This relates to rose more because she wouldn't be who she was and act how she did without he family, not matter the circumstance.

Explanation:
The song ring off by Beyonce relates to rose allot. In the play, Rose devotes her life to her family, this includes Troy. When she found out that Troy was cheating on her she was devastated. After all this time of devoting herself to be the perfect mother and wife, she didn't receive the same. That's when she decide that she was no longer going to put up with Troy. Though she wasn't able to leave him, she still refused to put the effort and love into their relationship like she was previously.
