I imagine a firefighter as a young or middle-aged person. He is well-build, healthy and has above average strength and agility, because many of his job functions just cannot be performed without maintaining a high fitness level. I also think that a firefighter should be of a medium height. Firefighters wear special clothes which usually has orange or yellow colour 
In my opinion, the most important quality for a firefighter is integrity. People have to trust them with their personal property, their safety, their privacy, their loved ones' care and even their lives. Integrity and trust within the firefighters' crew is also essential. Of course, a firefighter must be a courageous and dedicated person. These people should be equally concerned with the well-being of others as much as with their own. It is also important to be sociable and tolerant. They are to deal with different people and it is essential to treat them all with the same level of respect, courtesy and professionalism. 
Firefighting is a tough business. Being a succesful firefighter requires a hard work and strong will.
