A big reason for World War I was the death of Franz Ferdinand which was done by Princip. Franz Ferdinand was Austria's heir to the throne and not everyone was okay with the choices he was making in putting Austria-Hungary in charge of Bosnia. He went to visit Sarajevo which was the capital of Bosnia and there were many people that were upset with his take over so they were planning an assassination. The first attempt failed but injured others so Franz Ferdinand decided to go pay them a visit which gave Princip a chance to shoot him so he did, and that's how Franz Ferdinand was killed.

The battle of the Marne started to stop the Schlieffen Plan; the plan was stopped and it started as a sailmate. The Schlieffen Plan was for the Germans to quickly attack and get rid of France but the Germans were stopped by the french. Being able to stop the Germans from taking Paris saved the peoples lives and made it possible for France to continue to fight in the war. The war was not over and with the stalemate the No man's land was created where if either side tried to go to another they would be shot and killed within a second.

The Battle of the Somme was a battle in WWI that lasted a very long time and had a lot of casualties that came with it. Around this time is when the soldiers went over the top trying to get to the other side, they would take all they could then make a run for it to try to get to the other side. This had men dying or close to death every single day. This battle was a long one and had men wondering if they would make it to the next day. The soldiers had to be on the lookout for any bad things that could be heading their way whether they were explosives that exploded or ones that let out deadly gasses.

The U.S decides to join the war when finding out that Germany sunk a ship with Americans on it then tries to get the U.S by sending them a Zimmerman Telegram but that gets intercepted by the british. The U.S finds out about what Germany was offering to Mexico. The offer that Germany gave Mexico was to keep the U.S distracted and out of their way and they wouldn’t have to worry about their ships. With the U.S finding out about Germany's plan it backfired and now have more countries going against them and losing more people. They had angry Americans going against them instead of having them distracted with Mexico.

This is when Armenians were exterminated by Turks and the Ottoman empire. They killed between 600,000 and 1.5 million Armenians and many were also forcibly removed from the county. The Turkish government was ignoring the scope of events that were happening; they said the Armenians were enemies and their slaughtering was necessary. Armenians were taken in and torcherd having everything taken away from them and they either dropped dead or were shot at the end of the torchering.

The treaty of Versitial was the treaty that was the formal end of WWI, it left some countries happy and some with anger. The treaty had Germany paying for it, it had Germany paying for the harm that was done and limiting the access they had for the people in their army. The countries in the war all felt like they were getting less than what they were promised and they wanted more. Them feeling this way is what was the beginning of what started the feeling of the need for another war, WWII.
