It shows how he forms relationships with his players that are deeper than surface level. That being said, it also shows how intense he really was. It visualizes how Gruden may get angry and yell a bit, but that is only because he truly wants to succeed. It started by explaining how his father influenced his love for the game of football which was good information to know. I think that if there was a little bit more information on Gruden’s childhood in general that would have been nice, but in the message of the biography it wasn’t necessarily needed. Throughout the biography, readers leaner about Grudens coaching career. How he started as a quarterback, but never really made it that far. After playing he took after his dad by becoming a coach. He started with smaller roles in college programs and slowly made his way into head coaching jobs in the NFL where he is more famously known for coaching. This biography walks readers through Gruden’s journey from a high school quarterback all the way to a Superbowl Champion head coach. On this journey, readers are let into many stories that Gruden shares about his trip to the top. These stories are told in great detail and are honestly just super cool experiences to hear about from such a big public figure. Gruden does a great job at explaining his stories in a way that are easy to understand as well as still having lots of insight into how he felt through these events. It is also very cool to hear these stories from Gruden himself. Not only does it ensure that the stories are true, but it also adds a lot of extra details that many others probably would not have known. Overall, this biography is an amazing overview of Grudens life of football. It not only explains all his honors and championships, but many cool stories along the way. I believe that this book deserves a 4-star rating. The only reason that I didn’t honor a 5-star rating is that a few stories shared felt like they didn’t really fit in. He was always trying to learn more about football by watching film, and studying the game to become smarter and better at what he did. I think that I could use a bit more determination in my life. I think that it would be helpful to first find what I am passionate about. I think that having something I am really invested into would help me to care more in the first place. I think I could also achieve this by being more disciplined. Having a schedule that is consistent will also help me to continually strive to become my very best every day. This would also help me to form better habits. I think that football was a little too big of a part in his life and was basically the only thing that he thought about. It is good to do the things that you love, but I think that it is important to still have a life outside of the activities that you do. A way I am going to try and personally steer away from this is by changing it up every now and then. I can do this by trying new things, maybe going to different places and really exploring more into what life all has to offer. Who knows maybe I will find another activity, or place that I love as well.
