My name is Oyije and this is what the streets in my neighbourhood look like. Taking walks in the evening gives me an opportunity to refresh and reset my head before going to bed. It's like the cool evening breeze takes all the stress of the day away and prepares me to start on a clean slate. This photo was taken today and this is the peak of the dry season. Imagine the sights and smells when the rains come; it's simply amazing.

Weather it is walking / hiking on the islands or by low tide on the seafloor or sailing the waters at high tide. Especially when grounding our ship during low tide on a sandbank and play with the kids on the seafloor exploring all the life, gathering mussels of fishing for shrimps for dinner is super relaxing. No other sound than happy voices, bird sounds and the sound of water seeping away or back again.

The idea of being on your own in a beautiful surrounding, to me is how I could imagine the perfect life is.
Whenever I can go to my grandmother's farm and collect fruits and vegetables as well as help to plant them is a good way to connect and have a direct exchange with nature. But often in the day-to-day life of the city sitting in a park, or even a garden and enjoying some sun and fresh air is fundamental to recharge your energy. - Letícia Barbosa

I appreciate nature the most when I'm by the coast. It reminds me of the freedom nature provide, and the strength it can create in us. It brings to surface appreciation I have to all life on land and sea, all that came before human species, and all that will remain after we are all gone. Hiking, climbing, and running are when I enjoy nature. It doesn't have to be filled with varied biodiversity, but seeing uncommon animals like a species of a bird, always makes me feel very grateful and happy.

This canal runs through the centre of a recent housing development and forms the spine by which it is organised. This photo is taken from one of the footbridges that link either side. The banks are kept mainly planted and allows habitats for ducks and birds (and even peacocks, always a bizarre sight to see in Essex!). Bats and hedgehogs are active at night also. Some residents have taken the opportunity to build platforms down to the water. For me, this represents a bringing together of the natural and built environment and the inhabitants of both.

Though throughout my fieldwork this Boardwalk turned out to be the connecting element on my daily urban explorations and/or sport activities. It's main purpose is to connect various parks and hike & bike-trails in Austin together however it is also the fasted and most save way to travel into downtown from East Riverside by foot or bike. The Boardwalk enables you to keep walking along the Colarado River while enjoying the sounds and scenes nature can offer and avoiding getting hit by the Texas street level heat and noise. There are multiple hike&bike trails in all directions (north-south and west-east) along the famous creeks in Austin, though those along the Colarado River will let you witness a wide range of Austin's urban life.

Now when I had this experience, I can relate this to our ancient Indian tradition where kids were sent to Ashram ( A place away in jungle where kids were taught under the tree, and they were made to stay there through out their education) So they knew how to live with nature and learn from it.

Denoting ‘flower’, blossoms are possibly the most popular species of deciduous trees planted throughout Australia. Many are known for their ornate status and aesthetic features and so are propagated for this intention. These varieties often have the words ‘flowering’ or ‘ornamental’ in their title and so can be easily distinguished from other blossom varieties.

In terms of cross-pollination, insects such as bees, allow for pollen transfer to happen so that the trees are able to produce fruit. This process is symbiotic, with the bees applying the pollen as a source of protein for their own larvae.

Although the blossom season is short-lived, its presence provides much bliss and allows us to realise the splendour that only nature can bring.

Nature, especially the coast, is embedded into everyone in Cornwall and we often take for granted how lucky we are. My friend and I spent a moment here to truly soak in the beauty of our home. In the middle of some fieldwork for school we sat in silence for a few minutes to feel the peace of the beach and the warmth of the sun which is the best way to connect to nature in my opinion.

I agreed strongly to the point that nature decreases your depression , my homeland is just like a village and there is a big waterfall near my home with a high forest cover , big vegetation and I love to walk in that area. Whenever I was sad or angry walk there it seems that my depression has reduced slowly especially when i have much hectic day i go there and felt as the nature has taken my all tiredness and make me fresh and energetic. When i ever goes to any city despite how much i do a trip if there is no greenry it can never release my depression as much as my homeland waterfall and birds chirping can do .

I came across this Black Coral Pea (Kennedia nigricans), which is thriving near a busy major intersection in inner suburban Melbourne. It had been planted in a smallish verge garden by volunteers. It was covered in bees and other pollinators. I spent a good 5 minutes there - admiring the plant, IDing it, marvelling at its hardiness and sharing some pics with friends...an opportunistic encounter where I was completely absorbed and connected.

This photo was taken at a small waterside spot in my city.
I like this place because water, plants, and everyday urban life exist together in the same scene — it makes me feel that nature is right next to daily life. I often pass places like this without paying much attention, but when I stop for a moment, I realize how refreshing it is.
Seeing children naturally play by the water also reminds me that connecting to nature can be very simple and very close to us.

I often visit shrines when I’m travelling.

This photograph shows the approach to Haruna Shrine in Gunma Prefecture.

Whilst it is lovely to casually experience nature within the city, such as in urban parks or along riverbanks, I find myself longing to feel nature enveloping me with my skin and my whole body. By sensing the living nature—the scent of the earth, the cool air, the birdsong and the murmur of the river—I am moved by the multisensory nature of my own body, which I had almost forgotten.

I also believe that nature has the power to make us aware of the passage of time. When I am in touch with the timelessness of nature, I feel as though the flow of time within me slows down slightly. Perhaps because of this, I am able to forget the people and things that rush me along in my daily life, and instead engage in meditative experiences where I face my true self, or observe natural phenomena, allowing me to savour—albeit in a rudimentary way—the spirit of impermanence.

I believe I am moved by these sensations precisely because they are suppressed in my everyday life. If I were to live amidst the great outdoors every day, I would likely be troubled by the problems that arise within nature itself.

Finding joy in moments like a dammed river breaking free and flowing once more, I realise that perhaps I am content with the society I live in today.

For me, it is the visible paired with the invisible. For instance, a walk in the forest that invites you to marvel at the majesty and beauty of every single tree—but also the air I can breathe here, and the sounds like birds or the rustling of leaves that I hear, which have an incredibly calming effect on me. The touch of the ground, and the awareness of how all these trees are connected underground via the 'wood wide web.' I am certain that we can truly feel our own connection to nature here if we are open to it. Yet, at the same time, it reminds us of our own transience, putting everything into perspective. Because these trees were here long before us, and in the best-case scenario, they will remain long after we are gone. Just like this protected sycamore maple, which dates back to around 1750 and is considered one of the 100 most significant trees in Germany. I am incredibly fortunate to live only about 20 minutes away from it. The photo impressively shows by the surrounding ground just how massive the root system must be—it is said to be at least as wide as the crown itself.
