She doesn't fit in with the children, and she didn't think that she was created by the Heavenly Father. Townspeople believed that Pearl was a demon offspring, because her mother was the wearer of the scarlet letter. Hester worried about her also.&nbsp;<br>"Child, what are thou?" Cried the mother. (P.92)<br>Incoherent- Expressed in an incomprehensible way.(p.89)<br>Gesticulation- A gesture, especially a dramatic one, used instead of speaking.(p.92)<br>&nbsp;Phantasmagoric- Changing or shifting.(p.90)</div>]]></description>

There were rumors that Pearl was a demon-child and that she would be taken away for her and Hester's sake. At the mansion Hester looks in the mirror and is horrified by how much the Scarlet Letter dominates her appearance.<br><br>Imperious- assuming power or authority without justification; arrogant and domineering. (P.96)<br><br>Similitude- the quality of state of being similar to something (P.96)<br><br>Garb- clothing or dress, especially of a distinctive or special kind (P.95)<br><br>"...the scarlet letter was represented in exaggerated and&nbsp;gigantic proportions, so as to be greatly the most prominent feature of her appearance." Shortly after she returned, a doctor, Roger Chillingworth, arrived at the cell to check on the baby and Hester. We later find out that he was her husband she committed adultery towards. They discuss the circumstances and forgive each other for their wrong doings.</div>]]></description>
