What happens to a piece of music if the rhythm is repetitive or unchanging? Is this a bad thing? Why/Why not?

It depends on the composition. If a composition has lyrics, it can get repetitive and boring very quickly. It can be interesting at the start but when you get through to the end it will become annoying. The rhythm carries the lyrics and if the rhythm is poor, the lyrics don't come across as strong. If the composition is an instrumental piece it could be ok but is still repetitive. All music needs to be somewhat repetitive to keep the song blending together and make it all one.
By Mia, Imogen and Layla

No, any instrument can control the rhythm not just drummers. If you don't have a drummer some other instrument will control the rhythm such as a piano, guitar, etc. Some genres of music don't require a drummer but the music still has a rhythm which means that another instrument has to control the rhythm.
