After completing the Learning Intelligence Self-Assessment and exploring the different types of intelligence, I discovered that my strongest learning strengths are visual/spatial, interpersonal, and intrapersonal intelligence.

I use my visual/spatial intelligence to make complex information easier to understand. Infographics, charts, and posters help me process material in a clear and organized way. This semester, I plan to create visual summaries of readings and assignments to reinforce key concepts and stay engaged with the content.

My interpersonal intelligence allows me to connect well with others. I’ll use this strength to build a supportive network of peers, contribute to group discussions, and help create a healthy, collaborative dynamic during group projects. I know that showing up, being present, and encouraging others makes a big difference in my learning experience.

With intrapersonal intelligence, I understand my learning preferences, limits, and strengths. I reflect regularly, set goals, and stay self-motivated. This semester, I will tap into my self-awareness to stay organized, recognize when I need help, and reach out early, especially in areas where I know I need extra support.

By actively using these intelligences, I can stay focused, make meaningful connections, and keep moving forward in my learning this semester.

Janis Li

Knowing that my top strengths are interpersonal, intrapersonal, and visual-spatial intelligences helps me plan how I’ll approach learning in this course.

Interpersonal intelligence means I learn best through connection and collaboration. I plan to fully engage in discussion boards, support my peers through meaningful comments, and learn from different perspectives. Even in an online space, I know I can build community and deepen my understanding by interacting with others.

Intrapersonal intelligence helps me manage my time, stay organized, and recognize when I need to adjust my approach. I will use this strength by setting personal goals, checking in with myself regularly, and reflecting on what learning strategies work best for me.

Visual-spatial intelligence means I process information best when I can see it. I will use diagrams, charts, and color-coded notes to organize information and make it easier to understand and remember. Creating visual tools also helps me make connections between ideas and apply them in a meaningful way.

Even though this course is online, I know these strengths will help me stay focused, motivated, and engaged in my learning.

My strongest intelligences are musical intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence (myself smart) and linguistic intelligence (word smart). These intelligences keep me accountable this semester for my success in multiple ways. Knowing myself, why I react to things and what I personally need to do to be successful is key; following the beat of my own drum rather than looking to Tiktok or Pinterest for a new "routine". While looking for routine-inspiration, those two are not bad choices, it's important to me that I build a routine based entirely on what works for me, while throwing in things that I've seen others do to test it out. I love to write, and music helps me focus and also use my brain on a hobby I enjoy after spending brain-power on school.

Hannah Carr

I ended up discovering that my learning strengths are what allow me to keep building on my growth mindset and has essentially helped me have the right idea of where I want to be or become in the future. My strongest intelligences would have to be intrapersonal intelligence (self smart) and visual intelligence (picture smart). I personally believe that my strongest intelligence would have to be intrapersonal since I typically organize and plan out everything, or most things, independently and I know what I am capable of. I would say that visual intelligence is my second strongest intelligence simply due to me having a better understanding of what I am learning when seeing multiple visually compelling images that describe certain concepts. I will definitely use my two strongest intelligence's to learn the material throughout this term by activating my growth mindset switch in my head that will allow me to enhance my way of learning, using mostly intrapersonal and visual intelligence.

After completing the self-assessment, it made sense to me that one of my strongest intelligences is intrapersonal because I'm someone who likes to do self-reflection. I often quiz myself by asking questions and searching for questions independently. I enjoy searching up definitions of words that I don't know. It helps me to identify the gaps in my knowledge and understand topics better. I also discovered that I am body-kinesthetic as I love moving around, especially going to the gym. Sitting for a long time is hard for me, and I learn best when I am doing something hands-on.

Reading theory from a paper feels different from actually using it in real life. Sometimes when I'm in a real life situation, I freeze and forget what I learn. I learn from these moments, as I go back reflect and identify those gaps. Observing from others also has helped me significantly. This term, I am going to continue to ask myself questions, journal and practice things in real life as much as I can.

Narissa Rampat
