The media that I worked with today is acrylic paint. I used acrylic paint to paint lines onto my piece. I began by painting random lines onto my piece. I like how the blue and yellow paint mixed to create a lime green color. I'm not struggling at this point.

Today I added curvy purple and brown lines. The techniques that I used were mark making in order to develop the purple and brown lines that I created. I created my underpainting by using the mark making technique to create the lines. The discoveries that I made were that while in the process of mark making one must be cautious of how thick they are creating their lines.

I took a risk by applying a purple glaze overtop of my underpainting. I used the glazing technique. Glazing the piece helped me to develop my composition into a more complete design by filling in the white space. I'm proudest of the purple color I choose to glaze overtop on my underpainting. I need to continue developing my piece because most of my design got covered up.

Today I started to paint on top of my glaze. i'm unifying my project by adding curvy yellow and blue lines into my piece. The element that is being used is line. The principle that is being used is pattern. I'm struggling with replicating the same design that I created as my underpainting, on top of the purple glaze. I could fix this problem by referring back to pictures.

There are no elements or techniques in the project that do not seem to fit or that compromise the unity of the image. Since the project was abstract I didn't use a color scheme. I decided to add the colors that looked best when put together. However, I did use a darker purple in order to emphasize the lighter colors of the lines. I'm finished and satisfied with my piece. I will not be further developing or creating unity in my piece.
