I chose Belgium as my country for my food truck. I learned about Belgium's history with beer, and how their culture has always been very well known for their signature beer. Along with beer, Waffles, and fries are also a staple from Belgium. This research helped me create the theme for my truck, which was waffles. But I struggled to find drinks from Belgium that are non alcoholic.

When I designed my menu, the key influence was the amount of trucks in Belgium that are successful while selling mainly waffles. I chose to make my menu surrounding waffles, and adding a variety of chose to add on top. I balanced traditional flavors like the plain waffle itself, with modern toppings to make the waffle less basic. I did not have any dietary restrictions because after doing research I found that most trucks do not have any themselves. I made sure my dishes were authentic by taking references from sites that showed true Belgian cuisine.

My food trucks identity was based of waffles and the whole design was promoting waffles. My logo and advertisement showed that the main dish, is waffles. I used the slogan "Waffles on the go" to bring in more people, so they know they can grab food, and not have to sit down to eat. I brought Belgian cuisine together with an American style truck, and menu with English language and pricing.

The biggest challenge I faced was finding a drink menu that did not involve beer. I found that the traditional drinks and juices in America are also drank across the world, so I used those.

It grew my knowledge because it showed me how the US is very different from other countries, but at the same time, very similar. It helped my creativity when creating a slogan, menu, logo, and design for the truck. My goals are to continue to learn more about other cultures and try some of their food.

I enjoyed making the menu the most about the unit because I was able to make my own design while incorporating information I learned about Belgium. I found that finding more foods, that I am familiar with from Belgium other than just waffles, was difficult. So I decided to base my truck off just waffles, so I did not mess up a different dish that I was not knowledgeable about. I can apply the knowledge I gained in the future, because I now know the background history of some more foods I eat daily.

My truck will use recyclable containers, and not materials that can harm the environment to ensure we maintain sustainable food practices. My truck was culturally appropriate because I did the correct research to make sure of that. Also I have been to a truck that sold Belgian Waffles. I incorporated global food trends like Belgian waffles, because they are eaten globally.
