During high school, I attended Monroe 1 Boces and completed the Cosmetology program, eventually getting my state license in Cosmetology. During the program, I developed an interest to one day open my own salon. I also worked at a very small salon, which only had two chairs, and every part of the business was done by the owner, Robyn. While working for her, I realized how difficult, expensive and time consuming it really is to open and own your salon.

Goal Setting

One thing I can do right now that will make my dream job easier would be to really focus on how to properly management the office part of a business/ company and the successful marketing/sales strategies of a big business. Learning these strategies will make my dream job a lot easier as i hope to work in the corporate offices of a large hair products company one day or be one of the top distributors for that company in my location where ever I end up living.

Reflection on the reasons I have not been able to accomplish something I've always wanted or how this assignment will help me to accomplish some goal:

I think this video really shows just how short life is and how much you need to appreciate every second you really have. I think the reasons I haven't been able to accomplish something I've always wanted was out of fear of failure or rejection. I think after that video, and thinking about my own life and experiences, I don't really have time to worry about rejection or failure but I have to focus on getting the best that life has to offer no matter what it is. I really need to focus on being happy and loving everyone in my life while they are still here, because you never know if they'll still be around tomorrow or the next day. Appreciating every day as if its your last is something I would like to incorporate more into my everyday thinking and to really value everything that I have been through and to really look forward to my future.
