Chain of command - Police
At the top of this chain of command there is the Home sectary (Sajid Javid) at the home office. From there it splits in to different Headquarters for each constabulary. There are 43 of these. At the HQ there is the admin support and this is also where the Chief Constable can be found. From here in Durham Constabulary the chain of command is then split in to 3. One of these 3 sections is the Support Units which includes the Armed response unit, dog unit and underwater search unit. There are also two districts in Durham and these are the other two sections. The districts are North Durham and South Durham. At the top of each of these districts is the Superintendent. Command and control then passes down to the Inspector then the Sergeant and then down to the Constable who is at the bottom of the chain.

Technical skills
One technical skill demonstrated by Dany Cotton in this situation was fire safety. Skill meant that she knew if it was safe to send members of her team into the fire and when to do it. This skill meant that her team trusted her judgement and this allowed the team to be motivated to do the job as they believed that she knew what was the best thing to do and this meant that they followed the order they were given when told to enter the building. Another technical skill demonstrated by Dany Cotton was building construction knowledge. This enabled the firefighters to feel safe going into the building as she wopuld not send her team into a building if was noty safe and this skill meant that she was able to ensure the safety of her team in the job they were doing.
Specialist skills

A specialist skill that Dany Cotton has as a good leader is the knowledge of hazardous materials. This meant that she was aware of many materials in the building which could be classed as hazardous and cause any problems in the rescue and cause any more risk to the people inside the building. This would help motivate the team to work for Dany Cotton as they know she has this knowledge and know that the work they are doing is safe so they will be more willing to do the tasks needed. Another specialist skill that Dany Cotton has is trauma care knowledge. This means that if someone has to be cared for due to a trauma due to the incident. this means that the firefighters are willing to do the jobs needed despite the danger they faced. This is because they know they are in good hands if anything happens. this also means that they are more motivated to do the jobs required.

Qualities
One of these qualities was trust. This meant that she could tell the fire fighters what needed doing and let them get on with it as she trusted her team to do the job in a safe and efficient manner. This helped motivate the team as it made them see someone believes in them and this helps give them more confidence and this makes them more willing to do the jobs needed to deal with the situation.
Dany also showed good morale during this situation. This is because she understood that by having a good morale other members of her team would then have a higher morale. This would then lead to them being more motivated to do the job in hand and help save as many people as possible from the fire. This means that is an important quality to have as a leader of a team.
Another quality that Dany Cotton showed during this event was fairness. This is because she gave all her team members everything they needed to complete the job in hand. This showed that she was fair as she ensured that her team were in the best possible position to control and extinguish the fire.
