Since I was not able to visit a museum, I took an online exhibition of the state museum of Pennsylvania. As I was looking for art work online this picture really stood out to me. This image shows the friendship and peace between two different cultures. There has been a lot of cultural troubles like different culture people not getting along. Like in Harrisburg just last week, they had a fight blacks vs Hispanic. This image makes me feel as its possible that one day we can all get along.

I really like the translation to the mask; as where the description said the mask had a jaw of a crocodile, the horns of an antelope, the body of a serpent and the tail of a chameleon. The history of this headdress has changed as well it used to be something that ha scared significance but now it is used as an entertainment.

We actually have a statue of her at our house as well. As I look at this more carefully I can see that she has a lot of jewelry on. I don't know if jewelry has a meaning in Nepali, but almost all the women are obsessed with jewelry. One thing that comes out as a surprise me is that this was created during Malla period and the statue still looks so new. I love the detail of her dress. It shows me that she is fashionable. That is also a surprise to me because women in nepal didn't even wear jeans.

I got a bit interested and looked up the culture and saw that most of their ceramics are made bigger than usual. They want their ceramic to be rounded and have minimum details on it while most people would want a lot of detail on their ceramic.

He was born in Guildford, UK and died in Hull, City of Kingston-upon-hull, UK. He worked as a Portrait Painter. This is a portrait of his daughter Henrietta Ann Jane Shurlock and his grand daughter. His did his first painting when he was 13 years old. He painted a replica of another painting. Later, he attended Royal Academy Schools where he won a gold for his drawing named "Aquarius". This specific painting is pastel on painting, laid down on canvas.
I feel like one of the elements of art that he used was value. In the image we can we that he painted the humans white meanwhile the background is dark blue or dark. In the middle there is gray lining to it. I think he uses texture as well. When I first took a look at this picture I felt a mother's love. One detail that I plan to discuss in my essay is that how he makes the painting look so realistic.

This portrait was made in Guildford, Surrey in 1801 by John Russell. This painting is in New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art. He used pastel on paper to make this portrait. Some essential points are the detailing of the cap and shawl made with gauzy fabric. The mother's arm is oddly longer because the baby was added later.

I feel like diversity is extremely important to me. Diversity is one of the reasons why I chose to come to Harrisburg University. I am from Nepal. Coming to the United States was a big part of my life. A decision that made me extremely happy. The United States is known as a melting pot because of how diverse it is. I also don't feel so lonely or felt out when I am in a diverse group of people.

Figure 1
This is a painting that is hanging in my house. It was made by one of my uncle in Nepal. This is a painting of a god, Manjushree. I love this piece of art because of of all the detailing it has. The shape of her crown with all the detailing and the different color of gems. The background color being dark really helps her green skin stand out. The perfect lining of her necklace. Both side of the necklace has the same thickness to it. Overall I think this image is really interesting

I am not familiar with the American culture. Since it's April I am hearing a lot about Easter. I don't really know what Easter is all I know is that there is bunnies and eggs. After talking to few people I found out what Easter really means and it has nothing to do with bunnies. Easter is a christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
