Childs Play- Chucky doll comes to life.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YSAlGpGo34

This film was made in 1988.
The first shot we see in this is scene is a mid-shot of the woman's face with the Chucky doll blurred in the background. This film is a horror film about a doll that got possessed with someones spirit and the doll is named as 'Good Guy' and the doll is a murderer and kills innocent people for his own entertainment and then he meets his wife Tiffany. Both dolls are possessed by murderers and they always end up killing someone by all different ways. In this scene Chucky tries to kill the woman and the little boy because they women found out he can move and talk without batteries. The music in this scene is very atmospheric, drawn out low that causes the tension of the scene. There are planned and timed jump scares, trying to make the viewers experience the same tension and fear as the lead actress(Catherine Hicks). After she looks in the box then Chucky batteries fall out of the box cutting to a cut away shot to reveal confusion to the audience and she immediately goes over to the doll and starts looking in the back of Chucky and while she looks in the back of him there is a close up shot of that because they are trying to warn the viewers that there is going to be something mysterious is going to happen. They had a close up to the batteries because it is important that Chucky has his batteries in to work. When Chucky realises that she knows he turns his head to her and says ''Hi I'm Chucky, wanna play?'' When he says that, it is a close up shot as in surprised he says that without batteries in his back it was also a quick moving shot towards his face.
That is when the woman panics and shows fear in the face from a mid shot and close up. They had quick snapping shots from different parts of the scene. The woman then throws the doll onto the floor and it rolls under the sofa but they used a technique to make it look like it was rolling but they used reversed video for that to happen. The camera is fast moving shot following the doll towards to floor. The lighting under the sofa is very dark so that it is only focused on the woman face and the fear that is being shown from her. The woman then looks under the sofa and has a look at the doll, the camera is following slowly with the woman as looks at it in confusion and fear.
when the woman looks under the sofa the camera moves its perspective so it looks like we are looking from chuckys eyes and picks it up and says ''Talk. Talk to me dammit!''. the reason for that is so that she thinks she is thinking he spoke so he is making her think she has gone doolally. The directors have used a flat for the set and used the original props too. The budget to make this film was $9 million and it made $44.2 million in box office

The boy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUZ2z4Qtw6c

This film was made in 2016.
The boy film is about a doll and these two people say that the doll is there son and asks for a babysitter to watch him. The parents of the doll give the babysitter a set of instructions with what to do with the doll like feed him and never leave him alone or ignore him and never have guest over but then she has a friend over and the doll starts moving around by it self. The beginning of this scene is a close up of the instructions for the doll that the babysitter needs to know what to do and the other close up is the dolls face and the babysitter for the doll. Then there is a full body shot of the babysitter and her guest and then goes into a close up again. The lighting in this scene is all dark and not much light to make it a little scary as it is a horror. They have close up shots to show their faces and their expressions to show how they are feeling. When they are playing snooker the lighting is dim because it is being focused on the snooker table. The dark lighting sets and a dark mood to the viewers . It is set in a mansion and we relate them to haunted houses. The close up of the two people speaking is that the person is speaking firs is focused on and the person who is not speaking is blurred out and that is to focus on the person who is speaking. They zoom in on a old telephone and that makes us think that everything in the house is going to be old. Typical horror style music is being used because it builds tension and then there is a loud boom to make people jump. They used a low shot scene of the woman feet and her shoes that went missing and then straight back up to her face to show that she is confused and the fear she has in her face about why they have turned back up. They have changed quickly between shots and used to sounds like sharpening knifes to make you jump. The sharpening knife sound is scary and sounds like someone is going to kill you when they hear that noise. The set for this scene is set in a forest in a mansion and the props in this film is just normal house props that is needed. The doll is also a prop that has been made especially for this film. The budget to make this film was $10 million and it made $64.2 million in box office.

I chose this two films because they were both based around dolls but different stories. both had similar lighting and similar props. They both had similar angels and camera shots
