I had the pleasure of being in Jacob's 1st period History class and his BEAUTIFUL smile, corky laughter, and all around personality will be truly missed. I was able to make a Canes baseball game this season and Jacob's love for baseball was great! May God's Grace, Love, & Mercy continue to cover the Edwards's family.

Our kiddos had just returned from Christmas break. When my 3rd period was entering, Jacob came into class in a melancholy mood, which is not the Jacob we all knew. I chalked it up as a "Holiday Hangup" and began our class session. After it was over and the students were leaving for their 4th period class, Jacob came up to me and said, "Mr. B...I heard everything you've been saying to me last semester. Although I passed your class, I know that I can be better....and I WILL do better!" And you know what???...he DID! 

See, what I expressed to him is what God had already revealed to me; Jacob was a bright light! He had the power to illuminate the world around him when he LET HIS LIGHT SHINE (a phrase I would say to him all the time), and the whole atmosphere around him was blessed in the midst of the shine! That's why this was so hard to swallow for so many of us, whether student or staff. Bottom line: Jacob Edwards will never be forgotten and I pray that the memories that we cherish will continue to keep his light shining forever! As always, I'm praying that God grants the family and everyone that knew and loved Jacob the peace that surpasses all understanding because we are definitely in need of it!
