  1. What is this author suggesting about war in this poem?


The author is suggesting that war is basically useless. Most people like the man in the poem go to war because they need the money. They go to war and kill thousands of people for no reason at all. Some war’s have benefits but the war that is going on is Russia And Ukraine, i don't even think they have a reason to be fighting maybe they do but i don't know.

  • In chapter 4 it starts off by Lisa saying "If you don't let me help, i'll do it by myself' Lisa say's this to Stefan whom she has cornered in his room.  Stefan asks how she will do it by herself. She says "I'll tell you how. I'll follow you, pick up one of the leaflets and make copies by hand at home and give them out. She grins at Stefan and then goes to sit on the bed. Stefna thinks to himself and if mom or dad ever finds out that he let lusa do it alone and he knew about it they would kill him. Stefan gave in, he couldn't say no to Lisa, he told her what to do and that she will start on friday.

    • In chapter 5 they fast forward to friday which is lisa's first mission with the leaflets. She starts walking towards the laundry store to pick up the bag of leaflets. As she walks in the door she sees an old man behind the counter, he has white hair and he's stopped. Lisa doest have a very strong stomach so when she noticed that her stomach started to feel weird she got a bit worried but continued on with the mission. As she walks up to the counter she asks the old man for  a guy named Soren Sorensen's laundry. The old man looks at Lisa with  a smile on his face. He goes to the back and a much younger guy comes out of the back with a bag that says S.S. He hands the bag to Lisa and says 'Bring the bag back when you're all done". She grabs the bag and walks outside she waits for the closest street car to arrive . She gets on and notice to german soldier walk on with her. They sit across from her. Her stomach starts to not feel so good and as soon as she knows it she throws up on both of the soldiers.

It took Stefan and 2 nurses to get him down and inject him with a sedative. Now he sits in a corner by himself still not believing that its true. The next morning 30 more Jews arrived in the weirdest way, through Lisa's window she saw a long funeral procession moving toward the chapel in the hospital..

    Chapter #15 summary:     It's cold, dark and quiet.. very quiet. They get in a van and apparently Stefan knows the driver on the van and he found a fisherman who will take a LOT of money and take the Jew's to Sweden but there is also some other fisher man who will bring them over for a reasonable amount of money. In the meantime they will have to wait. Lisa has been stuffing envelopes all morning. Outside there is a warm summer breeze blowing through Lisa's window. It's such a relief for her to just work in a skirt and blouse. In the winter Lisa had to sit in a winter coat and stuff envelopes with gloves on and in the winter all the gas was rationed so they could only heat up 1 room in the house. They chose to heat up the living room and all the bedrooms were really cold. The Germans keep bringing out more troops and making more arrests. Erik was supposed to drop over in the afternoon, and Susanne finally got over her crush on Erik, Susanne just doesn't have any time to be obsessed over boys or anything like that. But on the other hand now that Susanne has stopped liking Erik it's definitely not stopping him from having a MASSIVE crush on Susanne, it drives Lisa crazy cause she's just too old for crushes. If i was in the book store and i needed a new book i wouldn't run up to the book Lisa's War, although it was a good book and i though i wasn't gonna like it i was wrong the book told us what some people actually had to do so id give this book a 10/10. And i don't know if this book is fiction or non-fiction but it was a fun journey to know what Lisa and Stefan had to go through.
