Afghani Culture utilises a diverse source of plants for its medicinal uses. This use shows an essential source of healthcare and a critical component of biodiversity. Agro District located in Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan is rich in medicinal plant species. This district is poor and mostly people are dependent on traditional agriculture. But, based on the research it has been found that herbaceous plants are the most abundant source of medicinal plants (Majidi, 2023). The most mentioned medicinal plants were Zizipohora, Fern-leaf Yarrow, and Crataegus. These are used in hypertension, heart diseases, and headaches.

Majidi, A. H. (2023).

The journey of Afghani refugees in Australia is filled with both facilities and challenges concerning their health amd well-being. According to WHO, if the Afghani refugees faces active participation in the social structure then it will improve their mental health, reduce stress and a greater sense of pursuing future in Austrialia (WHO, 2022). Discrimination is everywhere around the world. So, there can be situations where certain Australian refugees might face discrimination and regularly meeting the discrimination might lead to contribute to their feelings of isolation and marginalisation from the Australian society.

WHO (2022, May 2).

For me, the most relevant aspect of Competency Standard 1.2 is taking into account the experiences of being a refugee in a new country. These events are essential in the treatment of trauma because mostly the new places and new cultures can affect a person in many ways. I have improved my understanding of how a new place can affect one's mental health. This also allows me to know how a person feels when they enter a new cultural base and also take care of those patients outside of my culture.

Canberra Health Literacy (2019). Culturally Responsive Clinical Practice: Working with People from Migrant and Refugee Backgrounds.

Refugees in Australia arrive in Australia with a wide range of health concerns. It can be connected with traumatic experience of war, displacement and challenging conditions in refugee camps. The Australian Refugee Health Practice Guide highlights the issues of how Afghan Refugees often face the stress of resettlement (Australian Refugee Health Practice Guide, n.d.). The treatment option to address these concerns is trauma-informed care, which involves safety, empowerment and cultural sensitivity. It also builds their trust and this fosters their healing. Making the refugees get out of the trauma from staying in refugee camps and past wars.

Australian Refugee Health Practice Guide. (n.d.). Refugee patients in primary care .

The Afghani culture has many traditional art forms, but due to decades of war in Afghanistan, they have lost many of their art forms. But, one form is still known worldwide, i.e., carpet weaving, a war-related art form. During the 1979 soviet union invasion, the Afghan weavers started to design tanks, helicopters, and weapons on the carpets. While other carpets denoted a famous monument or building. This art form is known across the world, and it has been still carried out all around the world. These carpets are all around the world and sold in many countries now.

NORTON, A.

Afghan food is one of the world’s most diverse and rich, which mostly reflects their history. Kabuli Pulao is a fragrant rice dish that is typically made with rice and chunks of meat. The dish was developed by the upper-class people of Kabul, who back at that time could afford this type of cuisine. In raw terms, it is known as qabili pulao, where qabili means capable. The women's marriage prospects are also defined in this food, if a woman makes a good Kabuli pulao then she is going to be a great wife and mother.

TasteAtlas.
