Many school shootings happen because of access to guns. Sandy hook elementary School is a school that had an active shooter on December 14, 2012. The shooters' name was Adam Lanza, and his goal was to shoot and kill his mother Nancy Lanza for an unknown reason, On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza took three guns to sandy hook so he can kill his mother, according to CNN “He grabbed three guns from the house -- a semi-automatic AR-15 assault rifle made by Bushmaster and pistols made by Glock and Sig Sauer -- and went to the elementary school wearing black fatigues and a military vest, according to a law enforcement official” CNN also says “At some point before he went to the school, investigators believe Adam Lanza, 20, killed his mother, Nancy Lanza” .  This reveals that having access to guns can resort in many bad things such as school shootings or gun violence.  The tragedy at Sandy Hook could have been prevented if Adam Lanza didn’t have access to all these weapons.
