Toucans are a species of tropical birds that have colorful feathers around their beaks. Siamangs are primates that have a distinct “hairstyle”. Epiphytes are plants that grow on other plants, mostly trees, at the top to get much-needed sunlight. Orchids are flowering plants. There are over 20000 species of orchids.

The TRF biome has been endangered for some time now. It suffers from deforestation and clear-cutting land. This has happened quite often due to human's need for wood and arable land. The waters in the TRF are also endangered because of things like oil spills and chemical pollution. According to Nat. Geo, the TRF that once covered 14% of earths surface covers only 4% currently.
