ERP is a 12 week online research program for academically-motivated students interested in biomedical sciences. It places a strong emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills, empowering students to undertake independent projects and contribute to ongoing scientific inquiries. ERP fellows will conduct research under guidance of an established scientist research track record.

The University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service in collaboration with the VDOE has researched and compiled this data for the 2024-25 school year. The information is based on occupational employment statistics and educational attainment data produced by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics as well as longitudinal wage data produced by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.

Hollins University invites you to Hollinsummer, a pre-college experience designed for rising 9th–12th grade women who are eager to explore their academic interests, develop new skills, and experience college life on our beautiful Roanoke, Virginia campus.

Students can choose from three immersive programs:

Creative Writing Intensive – Develop a distinctive voice through fiction, poetry, and personal narrative workshops led by published authors.

Science Seminar – Conduct hands-on research in chemistry and environmental studies, exploring topics ranging from ecology to climate change.​​​​​

 Riding Program – Advance hunter/jumper skills and learn from college-level instructors while riding Hollins’ nationally recognized horses. Two one-week programs*: July 12–18, 2026; July 19–25, 2026

The Emerging Engineers program is a week-long summer program that provides high school students with a variety of immersive engineering experiences designed to educate them about the engineering field and inspire them to study and work in engineering.

The Emerging Engineers program is designed to inspire future engineers to create cutting edge solutions to global problems.

This summer program is held at UVA Engineering. It is open to high school students (rising students in grades 9-12) and is free for accepted applicants.

The program offers hands-on engineering activities, lab tours, guest speakers, student panel discussions and community-building activities.

The program offers two engineering tracks to explore: Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering.

Emerging Engineers builds on the success of the Bio-Med Tech-Girls program. The UVA School of Engineering and Applied Science is leading this unique collaboration between Charlottesville Women in Tech, Tech-Girls and the School of Education and Human Development.
