Every artist(s) has their own way of expressing themselves especially when it comes to rhythm. Ratliff gives multiple examples to show how different artists use rhythm. Rhythm is a very broad word but can be presented in may different ways. That's how artists have the ability to create different emotions from their music. As Ratliff said, one of the artists specified culture in his music the way he used rhythm.
