Evening One: A Dog show where a couple of dogs do a routine.

Day 2: Cat Movies

Opening Keynotes: A little video of cats throughout the history of films

Films: Aristocats, The Cat Returns, Cats & Dogs

Evening Two: Animal Themed Quiz

DAY 1:

Opening day introduction from Steve Spiers, Merthyr-born and bred writer, actor, and director. (Star Wars the Phantom Menace).

Showcasing local films from Merthyr College students.

Alongside local valleys filmmakers pieces.

Day 2:

An art gallery located in the Red House showcasing local valley artists' work alongside moving art pieces, and performance pieces in the theatre.

A live piece from local performance company SOIL, created by 3 previous Merthyr college students.

Alongside a showing of The Theory of Flight (1998) starring Helena Bonham Carter which was filmed around the local Merthyr Area.

And, a secret showing of an episode of Skint, a 6-part series on the local Merthyr people of the early 200s.

After party in the local Wetherspoons, the Y uppa Dic Penderyn.

We shall showcase many diffrent avenues of art, from local bands to physical artists, this will act as a an opportunity for artists from all walks to network and collabarate and showcase all their hard work.

We would require a large venue with plenty of space and an overall appealing and artistic look, right now a leading venue is the Morgans Hotel, more specificaly their Banqueting hall, it offers a large area with plenty of seating reminicent of the Oscars with its table layout and its venue art style, helping bring an aura of class to the event. Additionally the large built in screen of the venue is ideal and allows an easy way to showcase any digital art such as our films, the venue also offers high quality catering and bar service which will go along way to the quality and enjoyment of the event.

TWO DAY OUTLINE

DAY 1:

• Gallery Art part 1

• Guest speaker, talking about being local and involved in the arts (Michael Sheen??)

• Local stalls from local small businesses

• Local band plays music before showcases

• Film quiz with prize

• Child friendly showcases

DAY 2:

• Gallery Arts part 2

• A few words from some uni students about their time in the uni and the course

• Local stalls from local small businesses

• Different local band plays music before showcase

• Adult only showcase for more serious films

• Closing thank yous

Outreach would be very simple as the event itself benefits those who take part and contribute to it, contacting local galleries, art centric venues and other uni courses would give us the reach we need, places like Elysium who often host local artists and bands would be an easy way to get in contact with local creatives, it would also be easy to advertise through such places as there support of the arts community is large and this would only help bolster that

• International appeal: submissions would be open to any language

• Universal appeal: submissions would be open to any level of skill or experience

• Local appeal: reaching out to local businesses for opportunities i.e catering from local restaurants

• Contacting Treorchy Comprehensive Media Department for GCSE/A Level media students to be involved as volunteers or as submissions
