The present tense is the English language equivalent of saying "I/he/she/we/they buy", "I go", "I see", "I walk", etc...


The conjugation for the following -ar Spanish verbs follows the following pattern... 

yo - o                                nosotros - amos

tu - as                                

Ella/el - a                         ellos - an

The conjugation for er/-ir verbs follows the following pattern...

yo - o nosotros - emos

tu - es

Ella/el - e ellos - en


For example, if one were to say "I buy French fries" in Spanish - using the knowledge presented above - they would say "Yo compro papas fritas." 

Another example is if someone were to say "They walked to the park." This would translate as "Ellos caminan al parque."
